I've told you all about my relationship with classics, I'm sure. Haven't I? If not, I was wondering if you'd be interested in a post about it where I'm more thorough? Anyway. This book took me exactly a month to read (April 30th - May 30th) - including the period where I just wouldn't pick it up. I'm one of those people who don't like having more than one book on a go at a time, hence the reason behind my reading fail. However, since I put down Advanced Higher English for my final year in secondary school, I'm required to read a lot of classics. *sigh* So I think I'm going to start reading two books at the same time. I'll have a classic on the go at the same time I'll have a book I want to read on the go. I'm hoping it balances out.
I also only reviewed two books this month. TERRIBLE, I know. I'll put this down to the fact I was finishing exams and also had read no other books to review. *headdesk* These books were:

I'm pretty proud of some of my non-review posts this month as well! These include:
Look Out! June Releases!
I started doing this feature AGES ago and then didn't continue. I'm starting it up again because I think it's a great way to summarise all the book releases that are happening throughout the month!

What was May like for you reading/blogging wise? Are you excited for any particular June releases? Tell me in the comments!
Happy Reading,

I understand what you feel about classics - and it would be interesting to see a post on it, like you suggested. I find with classics I really struggle to plough through - but I feel that when I read ones that I actually want to read then I'm fine with them.
ReplyDeleteHopefully June will be a better reading month for you :) xx
It's the plot that I sometimes find hard to get through too, though I can always appreciate the language.
DeleteI hope so too! Thanks for commenting! :D xx
OOh Wuthering Heights! Did you not like it? Or did you just find it hard to get through? I really liked the first half when I read it last year (I think it was last year that I read it...probably...) but I found the second half grew a bit boring. Anyhow, I'll be reading it again over the summer as it's one of the books I'm going to be studying next year in A level English! :D
ReplyDeleteI think it was more just hard to get through for me. :(
DeleteOooh, good luck for English! I'm taking a tricky English course next year too - Advanced Higher, and I have to read a lot of classics for it! :3
Thank you for commenting!! :D
