Wednesday 15 July 2020

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly blogging meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where we discuss The Three Ws:
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

This is my first post for WWW Wednesdays so I'm pretty excited. It has been a looong time since I've taken part in any bookish blog memes and I've missed it! On to my Three Ws for this week!

What am I currently reading?

I'm currently reading book two in the An Ember in the Ashes series, A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. You can find my full review of book one, An Ember in the AshesHERE (or scroll down to my last post). After a slow start, I ended up pretty much falling in love with the first book and couldn't really imagine jumping into a different series straight after. So far I'm really enjoying this one too - even if I was a bit iffy with the new POV that was introduced at the start! I love Elias and Laia soo much - the main characters honestly make this series for me!

What did I recently finish reading?

I just finished reading my Netgalley e-ARC of Fable by Adrienne Young and I ADORED it. It's a pirate story set in a gritty, treacherous world with cutthroat pirate politics and the plot line follows Fable as she attempts to find her father years after he abandoned her on a dangerous island. Honestly, guys, this book was so much fun and so different to books I've been reading recently. I love the sea so I don't know why I don't read more pirate books. This book's set to release September 1st so my full review will be posted nearer to the publication date.

What do I think I'll read next?

I think it's a toss up between two books - either Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo or the final book in the Daevabad trilogy, The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty. As much as I'll probably debate continuing on with the An Ember in the Ashes series, I honestly feel it's about time I just get over myself and read the last book in the Daevabad one. I've been putting it off because I'm just so scared to see how it will all end - it's become one of my absolute favourite series this year and I just don't want it to be over! I also think I maybe seen a spoiler for it so that really bummed me out... hopefully it wasn't and I just read too much into it! But if I'm looking for something lighter by the time I finish my current read, I might pick up Six of Crows. We'll see - I think I'm just procrastinating, to be honest!

What are your Three Ws for this week? If you have written your own post, feel free to link it below!

Until next time,
Happy Reading!!

  3. Great post! I'm currently reading Evensong by Krista Walsh, a self-published fantasy novel starring dragons, magic and an author who falls into their own story. I've recently finished reading an eARC of The Bone Shard Daughter and next I think I'll delve into the rest of my TBR for Self-Published Fantasy month readathon on Twitter! I'm super excited to get into The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow as well which is due to be released in the autumn.
