My 2015 Blogging and Reading To-Do List!

Monday, 12 January 2015
Since the idea of creating 2015 resolutions for myself seems too scary and, therefore, too final for me, I'm going to do a 2015 blogging and reading to-do list instead. Disclaimer: I in no way believe I will succeed in doing all these things. Or any of these things, in fact. We'll see.

  • Do monthly wrap ups.
  • Attempt to read 50 books (but, seriously, no pressure).
  • Try to complete the 2015 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge (again, Rachel, no pressure).
  • Try and read books from a variety of genres. Try some historical fiction. Maybe even a contemporary or two.
  • Pick up a few graphic novels.
  • Read what you want when you want and DNF a freaking book if it's not for you - admit when it's just not working out.
  • Try and do some more blogger collabs.
  • Some more author interviews too?
  • Get a library card for the local library and start using it.
  • Maybe even borrow some books from the school library considering this is your last freaking year.
I can't think of anything else to add right now but, if I do, I may just come back and add it on to the end of this list so I can keep track of all the things I'm hoping to achieve this year with my blogging and reading.

What about you? What's on your blogging and reading to-do list?

Happy Reading,
Rachel xoxo

  1. I know exactly how you feel, I've already slacked off on most of my 2015 resolutions :P I also want to do monthly wrap ups . . . will just have to see how that goes, haha. I wanted to make a goal of reading 50 books this year, as well, but with school I know I won't be able to manage it /:
    Love your resolutions, good luck!:)

  2. Completely agree on reading from a variety of genre as I only really ever read contemporary. So far it's gone well, I've read 1 contemporary, 2 historical fiction and 1 sci fi.
Also agree on DNFing books. Normally I just plough through but life is too short to read bad books.
    Love your resolutions xx

  3. Those are all pretty good resolutions. I also think it's great that you're willing to give graphic novels a try, seeing as most people think they're just for children. I've recently got into the comic book medium and there's so much great stuff out there. I'm not really into superheroes, but even still I have a huge range to choose from. I don't know whether you have your graphic novels planned out, but I'd definitely recommend Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples (I've read the first two volumes and they're really something special. The world is nuts, the characters are amazing and the dialogue is some of the most entertaining of ever read) and V For Vendetta by Alan Moore (this is the novel that made the Guy Fawkes mask the symbol of anarchy that it has become. No graphic novel has had as much of an impact as this one. I normally hate dystopians, but even still V For Vendetta is amazing and it's way deeper and darker than the movie).

  4. This is a really good list! I would really like to see you do a collab with other bloggers. That would be cool to see if you could create something new. You're so right with the DNFing, whats the point in wasting your time with a book you know you don't like? I definitely need to do this. I've never been interested in Graphic Novels but that could be cool to see a review on that. Because you would be critiquing not only the story but also the imagery.

These are a good set of goals to start the year, good on ya!

  5. I also need to DNF more! Like, I read a book last week and I REALLY wasn't enjoying it and I forced myself to push through and it didn't get any better, so I basically wasted 2 days of my life reading a book that I didn't end up enjoying. It's just I hate not finishing a book just in case it does get really good - DNFing should be one of my goals too! ;D

I'm also aiming on reading 50 books this year but I don't know if I'll be able to! >.< Good luck with your goals! <3

    1. Awe, I understand that but it's a pity this one didn't get any better. :/

      Good luck with yours too!

  6. Excellent goals! I'm not afraid to DNF BUT I feel like I still pushed myself to finish a few too many last year. I'm really trying to DNF even MORE this year. I just picked up a book for a blog tour and just couldn't even get into the first few pages so I decided to give it up. Too many amazing books to keep struggling through ones I'm not enjoying!
